A Brief Overview
Performs a variety of tasks and food preparation. Cooks food items for meal service/patient service.

What you will do

  • Review written patient/cafeteria and all other menus and production sheets
  • Follow standardized recipes when cooking
  • Prepare patient/cafeteria meals as directed
  • Maintain required records of food temps
  • Provide quality customer service
  • Perform any related duties as assigned
  • Cook in small/large batches
  • Follow HACCP guidelines
  • Document leftovers
  • Clean all equipment
  • Participate in test trays
  • Follows proper label, dating and dot system



Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or equivalent Required and
  • culinary degree Required


Experience Qualifications

  • 1-3 years Three years of cooking experience needed. Required and
  • Cafeteria kitchen experience Preferred


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop on a consistent basis (High proficiency)
  • Ability to function independently. (High proficiency)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to sit stand for extended periods. (High proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • SAFE Serve Certification Serve Safe Certification within 1 Year Required
