A Brief Overview
An Oncology Business Analyst (BA) is a specialized role within the healthcare industry, focusing on the oncology domain. The primary responsibility of the BA is to analyze and interpret data related to oncology operations, patient care, and business processes. By leveraging their analytical skills and deep understanding of oncology EMR's like Varian ARIA. BA plays a crucial role in supporting decision-making, improving processes, and optimizing oncology-related activities.

What you will do

  • Gather, clean, and analyze data related to oncology services, patient outcomes, treatment protocols, clinical trials, and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with oncology specialists, administrators, and other stakeholders to understand the existing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Translate business needs into comprehensive and well-defined technical specifications for IT teams and vendors.
  • Work closely with IT teams and vendors to ensure the successful implementation and integration of oncology software applications and systems.
  • Perform testing and validation to ensure that the implemented solutions meet the specified requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with oncology-related regulations and guidelines, such as those from the FDA and other relevant bodies.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Provide training and support to oncology staff regarding newly implemented processes, systems, and changes to existing workflows.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare management, business administration, information technology, or a related field required
  • Additional certifications in healthcare informatics or project management preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of oncology practices, terminology, and treatment modalities required
  • Familiarity with healthcare information systems, electronic health records (EHR), and data analysis tools required

  • Proficient in data analysis, data modeling, and interpretation. Ability to use analytical software and tools effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement process improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and documentation.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
