Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Manager in daily operations, ensuring productivity, and maintaining the profitability of the fitness center.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a health, science, or business-related field is preferred. However, several years of experience in a leadership role within a health and fitness center is also acceptable.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer use, strong management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience: Not specified.
  • Certification/License: AHA CPR/AED certification is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Membership Sales and Retention:
    • Conduct tours for potential members.
    • Manage phone, email, and online inquiries.
    • Enforce policies and manage member retention, including cancellations, freezes, and expirations.
    • Use HNH Fitness software to generate membership reports.
    • Lead sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Front Desk Operations:
    • Oversee scheduling for front desk staff.
    • Assist with hiring and training new employees.
    • Ensure new staff are trained on membership software and all fitness and wellness programs.
    • Support the Manager with client relations issues.
  • Facility Management:
    • Assist with facility-related issues and the repair/maintenance of fitness equipment.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Act as a liaison between the fitness center and the community.
    • Attend health fairs and community events.
    • Assist in marketing the facility.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Perform any other duties as assigned by Managers and the Director.
