A Brief Overview

Dietary Aide will provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with policies and procedures.


What you will do

  • Gathers utensils necessary for serving entree items for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Stocks line with required items for meal service.
  • Cleans cold stations, wipes counters, puts away supplies and cleans refrigerators
  • Greets each patient by name and introduce yourself. Delivers meal trays to patients
  • Retrieve trays After patient meal is completed, begins to retrieve soiled trays from patient room.
  • After meal service has ended, returns to the dish room area and begins to scrape soiled trays
  • Breaks down carts and trays from both patient and cafeteria services.
  • Operates dishmachine. Loads, operates and unloads dishmachine. Stacks and stores washed items in their appropriate places.
  • Collects and disposes of trash throughout the kitchen, including the somat machine. Transports to disposal area.
  • Cleans and sanitizes dishmachine
  • Washes and sanitizes pots and pans: scrape, soak, and rinse pots, utensils and equipment
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the pot area: walls, racks and machines
  • Places all equipment, pots, pans and utensils in their appropriate areas
  • Prepares everything for catering. Prepares all desserts for patients and catering. Prepares all salads for patients, catering and cafeteria
  • Sets up sandwich station for patients
  • Follows HACCP guidelines
  • Greets all new patients receiving orientation DVD with them.
  • Assist all patients assessed as Need Assistance: with their menu selections.
  • Distributes nourishments to all pantries rotating stock
  • Documents temperature


Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required


Experience Qualifications

  • less than 1 year Six months related experience Preferred


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Customer service preferred
