A Brief Overview Responsible for greeting and navigating patients and guests, entering the hospital via point of entry and registration areas. Provide assistance to patients checking-in for services, and expedite patient flow. Provide all visitors with passes, directions, and general information
What you will do
Demonstrate a courteous, professional, understanding and compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients, staff, visitors, physicians and others while ensuring confidentiality.
Greets all incoming people in a friendly manner, both in words and with a welcoming smile and provides all patient visitors with passes and accurate easy to follow directions. Validate parking passes for patients.
Navigate and escort patient and/or visitors to their desired destination.
Answers telephone calls with accurate information in a courteous and professional manner.
Directs vendors and shipment deliveries to appropriate entrance for admittance, check appointment for all visiting vendors. Distribute necessary paperwork and vendor ID badges.
Provide scrub badges for necessary personnel to OR Department.
Maintains an updated calendar of hospital meetings and/or events to direct participants accurately.
Identifies and communicates patient experience issues and/or concerns to appropriate hospital personnel and/or Supervisor for resolution.
Demonstrates compliance with hospital dress code by being well groomed, wearing HNMC Identification and department uniform.
Observes policy regarding fire and safety regulations infection control, smoking restrictions, telephone usage, breaks and performs related duties as assigned.
Trains and provides updates to volunteers and new staff who are assigned.
Monitor and supply inventory updates for information desk.
Distribution of volunteer lunch/snack tickets

High School Diploma Or equivalent experience Required
Experience Qualifications
4-6 years Two to four years working experience dealing with the public Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to interact with patients, family members and Holy Name clinical and non-clinical staff in a professional manner, maintaining tact and courtesy at all times
Must possess excellent communication skills;
personable and professional telephone presence
Able to handle patient confidential information with sensitivity and adhere to hospital’s HIPPA and privacy practices
Deal well with stressful situations.
Data entry and computer knowledge preferred.
