A Brief Overview

As an Exercise Specialist, you will join a team dedicated to enhancing the physical well-being and performance capabilities of individuals and athletic teams. In this role, you will assess, design, and implement customized fitness programs that address specific health, wellness, and performance objectives. Your responsibilities will span two key settings: working with clients at HNH Fitness and at a local high school, where you'll develop team-based athletic performance programs. This position offers the unique opportunity to apply your expertise across the wellness-to-performance continuum, directly contributing to improved health outcomes and athletic achievement.


What you will do

  • Excellent interpersonal communication – ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations, including high school students and coaches
  • Ability to work with individuals and groups, including large athletic teams
  • Ability to work independently at off-site locations, such as school fitness centers
  • Highly energetic, outgoing, friendly, self-starter, takes initiative, can multi-task well, with attention to detail, and has effective time management.
  • Knowledge of emerging best practices within the fitness and sports performance industry
  • Ability to perform fitness assessments/evaluations to develop individualized programs for clients, athletes, and teams to meet specific goals
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments and exercise programs
  • Assists in the development and refinement of strength and conditioning programs
  • Leads exercise project tasks as assigned by the manager
  • Responsible for safety and cleanliness of the gym floor
  • Generates new clients/members and actively promotes the program
  • Contribute to marketing efforts through community events
  • Upholds professional certifications required for the position
  • Pursues pertinent further education within the timeframe set by the manager
  • Attends the weekly team meetings and the meetings with the supervisor
  • Ability to integrate with the Human Performance team: Physician, Rehab, Nutrition, Psychology, Sleep, etc.
  • Any other duties required by the manager


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred. It is preferred the degree focused on excercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, athletic training, or physical education. Other degrees will be experience. preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 2-3 years preferred experienced preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • NASM - Fitness Instructor Certification upon hire required or
  • CPTR - Cert Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association upon hire required or
  • CSCS - Cert Strength Cond Spec through the National Strength and Conditioning Association upon hire required or
  • ACSM - Clinical Exercise Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine upon hire required or
  • ACE - Advanced Health & Fitness Specialist through the American Council on Exercise upon hire required and
  • CPR - American Heart Association
